Please make sure you are fully aware of our rehoming policies and procedures before applying to adopt

We are a foster based rescue. We do not have a rescue centre.

Our main concern is OUR DOGS, we match each home to the adopter. Each dog is an individual, some will be good with other dogs, some will have to be an only dog, some are good with small children some are not, these sorts of things are taken into consideration when finding the right dog for your family.

Once you have had a successful homecheck, you will either be invited to meet your chosen dog if we feel you are the right match for them, or if we feel that dog may be suited better to another applicant, we may suggest other dogs for you to meet, or we will add you to our waiting list for other suitable dogs.

You will need to be able to travel to us to adopt, we do not have a rescue centre. Our dogs are placed in foster homes in various areas in the North West of England, we also have 2 small private blocks of kennels in Liverpool and Warrington.

Our rescue is run completely on donations and we receive no funding at all. So all of our dogs have an adoption fee which goes towards vet bills, kenneling fee’s etc.

We promote neutering and will castrate/spay all of our dogs, if a dog comes into our care he/she will be neutered, if for any reason the dog is not neutered when he/she comes to live with you, it will be stated in the adoption contract that this MUST be done. We will cover the cost of this providing the dog is brought back to our vets for the procedure, in some cases we may consider using your own vets.

Adoption fee’s

Adult dogs aged 1-8 years £350.

Bonded pairs aged 1-8 £650

Puppies aged 11 months and under £500.

If you are adopting an older dog aged over 9yrs, there is no set adoption fee, we just ask you to make a donation of your choice to the rescue.

This can be paid either by cash, paypal or bank transfer, but it must be paid on the day of adoption. Unfortunately we don’t accept cheques.

Rehoming Policies

Prospective owners must be aged 21 or over

If you take on a dog who has not yet been neutered, you must sign our neutering agreement to have this done. We will cover the cost of this providing the dog is brought back to our vets for the procedure, in some cases we may consider using your own vets.

We do consider homes who work full time, providing you have a routine in place so that the dog is not left alone all day. As a general rule, no dogs must be left alone in the home for more than 4-6 hours at one time but each dog has different needs.

Our dogs are not rehomed with their KC pedigree paperwork. They are rehomed to pet homes only.

We do not have a minimum age for children in the home. We only rehome dogs to homes with young children present, if the dog has a full history/experience of living with children and has an obvious good temperament around them.

We do not rehome to people with entire dogs in the home, we will not in anyway be connected to, or condone breeding, whether deliberate or unintentional, entire dogs’/bitches have the ability to breed, and therefore, possibly create more dogs coming into rescue. As well as this, many issues can arise between dogs that are neutered and un-neutered, whether different sexes or same sex, we will not place any dog in a situation that could be detrimental to them. There are many health benefits to neutering your dog too. Neutering your pets proves you are a responsible dog owner and have the dogs best interests at heart.

You MUST travel to us to meet the dog – we do not ‘deliver’ dogs, as we want to see how the dog reacts to you, your children or other dogs and vice versa, there will also be adoption paperwork to complete on the day too.

All members of the household must be there to meet the dog, this includes any resident dogs too.

All members of the family/people in the home must be in agreement about adopting a dog.

You will not be invited to meet/adopt your chosen dog until you have been through the rehoming process and a successful homecheck has been carried out

We expect new owners to give the dog a reasonable amount of time to settle and adjust to their new life (at least 6 weeks) and every effort put in to help the dog settle.

If an incompatibility arises and you can no longer keep the dog, the dog MUST be returned to us. The dog must NOT be passed onto anyone else or any other rescue organisation.

Our adoption contract must be signed on the day of adoption.

The decision of rehoming is made for the benefit of the dog in question and is at the discretion of JLRR. We are unable to suggest or guarantee rehome approval until the home check is carried out.
