Please make sure you are fully aware of our rehoming policies and procedures before applying to adopt

We are a foster based rescue. We do not operate kennels or a rescue center. Instead, our dogs reside in the homes of volunteer foster carers located in Liverpool and the surrounding areas, so you must be prepared to travel to the foster carer to meet/adopt. Whilst in foster care, the dogs are assessed to determine the type of home they need and any vet treatment is taken care of.

We do not adhere to rigid policies regarding the rehoming of our dogs.

We are open to rehoming dogs to families with children and do not impose a minimum age requirement. If a dog has previously lived in a family environment with children, there is no reason it cannot be placed in another family home with children, provided it passes our assessment without issues. Conversely, if a dog arrives from a stray pound with no knowledge history, or from a home lacking interaction with children, then we will not consider placing that particular dog in a household with young children.

Our priority is to avoid any potentially dangerous situations. If an application is declined due to the presence of a child of a specific age, it is because that particular dog is not suitable for such an environment, but you may very well be considered for other suitable dogs instead. We have successfully rehomed numerous dogs to families with children of various ages.

We also rehome dogs to households with other dogs, as long as the dog in question is sociable with others and vice versa.

Additionally, we are willing to rehome dogs to individuals who work full-time, as many dogs can adapt to being left alone for several hours. Many full-time workers have arrangements in place, such as returning home during lunch breaks or having someone check in on their pets. If a dog exhibits stress or separation anxiety when left alone, we obviously will not place that dog with a full-time worker.

We are open to rehoming dogs to individuals living in flats. Many of our volunteers reside in flats, and their dogs lead fulfilling lives. We do not assess the size of your living space as a criterion for adoption.

We also consider applications from renters, provided that your landlord permits pets.

Not located in our immediate area? That is not an issue. We have volunteer homecheckers all over the UK, so providing you can travel to the foster carer to adopt, your location isn't an issue.

Once you have completed an application form, we will arrange a homecheck where one of our volunteers will come to meet you and your family at your home, we will ask questions that will help us get a better understanding of your home and life in order to find the best possible match. Once you have had a successful homecheck, you will either be invited to meet your chosen dog if we feel you are the right match for them, or if we feel that dog may be suited better to another applicant, we may suggest other dogs for you to meet, or we will add you to our waiting list for other dogs.

Our rescue is run completely by volunteers. We receive no funding at all and rely purely on public donations and the hard work of our volunteer fundraisers. So all of our dogs have an adoption fee which goes towards vet bills, kenneling fee’s etc.

We promote neutering and will castrate/spay all of our dogs, if a dog comes into our care he/she will be neutered, if for any reason the dog is not neutered when he/she comes to live with you, it will be stated in the adoption contract that this MUST be done. If the dog has any medical issues when they arrive with us, we make sure they are treated before adoption.

We do not rehome to people with entire dogs in the home, we will not in anyway be connected to, or condone breeding, whether deliberate or unintentional, entire dogs’/bitches have the ability to breed, and therefore, possibly create more dogs coming into rescue. As well as this, many issues can arise between dogs that are neutered and un-neutered, whether different sexes or same sex, we will not place any dog in a situation that could be detrimental to them. There are many health benefits to neutering your dog too. Neutering your pets proves you are a responsible dog owner and have the dogs best interests at heart.

Our dogs are not rehomed with their KC pedigree paperwork. They are rehomed to pet homes only.

We expect new owners to give the dog a reasonable amount of time to settle and adjust to their new life (at least 6 weeks) and every effort put in to help the dog settle.

Prospective owners must be aged 21 or over

Adoption fee’s

Our adoption fee is £370

If you are adopting an older dog aged 9 or over, or a dog with a severe medical condition, there is no set adoption fee, we just ask you to make a donation of your choice to the rescue.

This can be paid either by cash, paypal or bank transfer, but it must be paid on the day of adoption. Unfortunately we don’t accept cheques.
