Become a homechecker

Homecheckers play a crucial role in our team, as they are responsible for conducting thorough assessments of potential adopters or fosterers. Before individuals are allowed to meet, adopt, or foster a dog from us, they must successfully pass a homecheck. However, since our rescue covers a wide area encompassing England and Wales, it is not always feasible for the main Joey's team to personally conduct every homecheck. Therefore, we heavily rely on a database of dedicated homecheckers who assist us in areas that we cannot reach.

To ensure the utmost care in rehoming our dogs, we have developed a set of application questions that aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of each homechecker. Homechecks are a vital part of our rehoming process, and it is imperative that we ensure anyone who adopts from us is fully capable and experienced in caring for a rescue dog. As a homechecker, it is essential that you possess good judgment of character and have sufficient experience to determine whether a home is suitable for one of our dogs. While some of the questions in the application are optional, we kindly request that you provide us with as much information as possible. Similarly, if you have any inquiries for our team, please feel free to contact us or utilise the additional information section in the application.

Once you have submitted your application, we will promptly send you an email to confirm its receipt. If you do not receive this acknowledgment within 48 hours, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
